Re: Music: I was going for relaxing/atmospheric and slightly melanchonic, but I think I see way you mean. You can disable the music (and sound) with F6.
This was a jam-game (done in 2 days), so it lacks a lot of features: rotate the opposite way, roads that 'snap'/look nice, lose-condition check(s), and, yes, the highlighting. (Also smaller maps, hi-score table, save feature, undo, ...)
I'm not really working on it at the moment, though. Sorry :-( If I ever decide to upgrade/sequel one of my games however, it'll be either this one or Arcade Overflow, so who knows.
P.S. On the off-chance you (or anyone else for that matter) knows C++: The source-code (which is a terrible mess) is available, so it might be possible to hack it yourself.

I really like it! Is there a way you could highlight the spaces available to build off of?
Thank you! :-)

Hey There!
is the source code for this still available?
Hi! Just scroll down a bit, should be under the download button.
The code is a mess though, as it is a gamejam game developed in a framework that was also made during multiple gamejams.
I think I just dumped the raw code to the zip-file. You’d need to supply your own art, sfx & project file.
Also, you need Emscripten to compile it for web.
I’m not sure I can assist much further beyond this, as I think the original might be lost due to hard-disk failure of my last laptop.
